Can you tell us a little about you?
I am 53 years old, I live in Gdańsk, I deal with minor renovation works every day and in my free time I take pictures.
How and when did you get into photography? I became interested in photography in 1991, but only for a short period of time, a few years. It wasn't until 2008, when I bought my first digital camera, that I became more interested in it. You can say that since 2009 photography is my life passion :)
What does photography mean to you?
Photography is my passion, it allows me to leave a visible trace in today's world.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.
There is no one style in photography, I like to change styles, I am inspired by various photographers, but also Renaissance and Baroque painting. I also like working in the studio and experimenting with lighting.
Where do you get inspiration from? Some shots I come up with myself, but I am most inspired by such photographers as: Michael Papendieck, Thorsten Jankowski, Peter Coulson and Renaissance and Baroque painters, such as: Ticjan, Sandro Botticelli, Caravaggio, Rembrandt.
Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?
Often I already have a ready picture in my head, which is later created in the creative process, but it also happens that I change the assumptions during and sometimes even spontaneously, when there is a good "flow". Then unexpectedly good shots are created :)
Studio, on location or both?
Different, sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
More like a hobbyist.
What has been your most memorable session and why?
My most memorable session was August 11, 2017. I was doing a workshop session with a photographer friend in the studio and then a huge storm came over the city, the lights went out in the whole city, there was no electricity for an hour and we were sitting by candlelight instead of taking pictures. It was a massive storm for several decades.
Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?
Neither Nikon nor Canon :) currently Sony, 3 body :) lens ? Let me think - any prime lens, as long as it has a high brightness.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
If he wants to start a business, he must be sure that he has mastered the art of photography to perfection :)
What do you think of our new magazine?
I think he's great. You can find a lot of interesting things in it :)
