Interview: Photographer Miloš Nejezchleb alias nejmil (Czech Republic)

Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Miloš Nejezchleb, I am 43 years old and I come from the Czech Republic. I am a father of three, a lover of good coffee and an endless dreamer.

How and when did you get intophotography?

I bought my first camera after the birth of my first daughter, 10 years ago. Since then, my perception of the world has completely changed. For the last 5 years I have been devoting myself exclusively to artistic conceptual photography.

What does photography mean to you?

Escape to other worlds, infinite possibility to create, ability to express oneself. Photography is a passion and energy for me.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

As I mentioned, I focus on art conceptual photography. The most characteristic features of my photographs are strikingly colored elements with a clear focus on the artistic side of photography. I like to use minimalism, symmetry and elements of surrealism.

Where do you get inspiration from?

From anywhere! But most often I am inspired by locations, whether modern architecture or just an interesting place. The second biggest source of my inspiration is people and social issues that appear in society.

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?

Yes, of course. I think carefully about each project in advance. I prepare the location, clothes, styling and draw storyboards. Sometimes it takes me several months.

Studio, on location or both?

Almost always location and very often outdoor.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

Professional, but photography is not my only job.

What has been your most memorable session and why?

It was the last one so far, because it was the most difficult to organize, two locations 20 people, 50 props, big fear of the weather and whether everyone will arrive, but in the end it turned out perfectly and the series called Moon for Sale is very successful and in April became the overall winner of the Fine Art Photography Awards in London.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

It's hard to succeed at a time when millions of people are taking pictures. You ask yourself if you are different from thousands of other photographers. If you find it, you have a chance at success.

What do you think of our new magazine?

I didn't really know him, which is a shame. In any case, I consider it an excellent platform and inspiration for photographers of all levels.
