Interview: Photographer Marco Bigotti (Italy)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I’m an Italian photographer. I have a studio in Umbria and I work for cosmetic and fashion brands.

How and when did you get into photography?

Photography has always been my passion. I started with sports photography and later combined with may love for fashion.

What does photography mean to you?

I’m lucky that it’s my job.

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

I hope my photos can describe it better than i do. I always try to create clean and elegant images using make up, clothes, lights and of course models.

Where do you get inspiration from?

Inspiration comes from leafing through fashion magazines, looking at works of photographers i admire, or simply dreaming.

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?

Surely. Every single photo is the result of careful planning that began days before.

Studio, on location or both?

I love to shoot in studio.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

I’m a paid professional.

What has been your most memorable session and why?

Probably every photoshoot in which the client was extremely satisfied.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

I use Nikon and 105mm macro lens for 90% of my photos.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

I recommend specializing in a specific photographic genre, and remembering that client satisfaction is often more important than your own.
