Interview: Photographer Carl Jacobs (USA)
Can you tell us a little about you?
Im born & raised in Hawaii, spent most of my life travelling and working for the entertainment industry .
How and when did you get into photography?
I picked up photography as a hobby 10 years ago , I liked fashion & Beauty and wanted to create my own visions.
What does photography mean to you?
Photography is freedom of expression, creativity and the ability to preserve moments in time.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.
I have no set style , I shoot for the moment or what I I feel and appreciate.
Where do you get inspiration from?
From watching people and some social media platforms.
Do you think in advance what you want in the picture?
Yes
Studio, on location or both?
Both, one should never restrict themselves.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
Hobbyist.
What has been your most memorable session and why?
I don’t have any particular session I remember most , they are all fun.
Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?
Nikon , I'd love to switch to Sony but I have too much invested in lenses to switch and start again.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
Keep your daytime job!
