Can you tell us a little about you?
My name is Adrienn Tamas-Vancak. I was born and raised in Hungary at Lake Balaton, a popular tourist resort in the west of the country. I am married, I am 39 years old, and I have two children, a little boy and a little girl, Richard (10) and Maya (7). We live on the outskirts of the capital city, Budapest, in a little village called Etyek. I love my family and the closeness of nature along with a possibility to get to the throbbing capital city in about 20 minutes. Apart from photography, I love running, hiking or simply walking in nature. I love fighting with the elements.
How and when did you get into photography?
In my twenties I got a Minolta camera. I started taking it everywhere with me and took shots of almost everything. During open air festivals, I realized, after some time that I rather captured people than anything else. In every photo I took there were people. I knew then and there that portrait photography was my thing. What does photography mean to you?
Photography for me is the best way to express myself. It is my passion and my hobby to put it simply.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.
Natural, creative portrait photography with a touch of fabulosity.
Where do you get inspiration from?
I get inspired by nature, feelings and the beauty of femininity. Do you think in advance what you want in the picture ?
I like putting effort into the preparation of a photoshoot, rather than taking snapshots of moments or happenings. However, this does not mean that I do not like spontaneousness or naturalness.
Studio, on location or both?
On location (preferably in nature.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
I consider myself a professional. However, I do not like this question too much.
Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?
Canon – Canon 85mm 1.2
What has been your most memorable session and why?
A recent photoshoot in an ancient mill. History of real people permeated the air. We tried to link past to present.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
They should honestly find themselves and try not to serve the public taste so that their true self and talent can prevail.
Whatdo you think of our new magazine?
I think it is fresh and modern. I also think that is great for artists to get a chance to be shown. It is also a wonderful opportunity. I am proud to be a small part of this. Thank you.
