Interview: Model Sabina Świątek (Poland)
Can you tell us a little about you? I am Sabina and I am from Poland. Last three years I spent in Belgium and now I am back to my motherland and located in Cracow. My biggest love and passion is dance, especially hip hop style, jazz funk and new age. I love theatre too – being on the stage is an amazing and magic feeling. I am also a beginner masseuse. Thai massage is my growing skill and hobby. Besides that I'm a really positive person, always smiling and laughing but also really sensitive and fragile. Small things make me happy but small things can hurt me too.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? I hope one day I will say I am totally perfect and enough. But for now if it's appearance or character I'd just say.. a lot! Haha
How did you start modeling?
When I was a kid my older brother had a camera and I used to play with it. At first, I tried to take pictures of old abandoned houses or nature. I think due to my artistic soul I have always tried to find some magic in it. Next, I started taking pictures of myself and checking what kind of emotions these pictures would evoke. Then I started to play with it even more. What if I part my lips a little? What if I flirt with the camera? What if I play with the light? What if I use my body and not face? Eventually, I posted some photos on social media and started getting invitations to photo shoots.
What do you think about work as a model?
For sure I would not say it is easy. Few hours of posing can be simply exhausting. You often have to pose in awkward positions or clothes. You have to express your emotions so that the photos are not boring. But I think every effort pays off.
What is your beauty regimen?
Well, I try to eat healthy and avoid junk food and sugary drinks. No booze. Of course it happens from time to time and that's okay too. But if you are healthy you feel good, and if you feel good you look good.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?
Definitely my positive attitude. People compare me to the sun. They tell me when I show up, my energy makes them smile. I always try to chase happiness and follow what my heart says. And that's what I love the most about myself. I appreciate what I have and who is around me. I am at peace with myself and I try to show love to the world and to others. This is my simple way to make my life easier
What are your plans for the future?
I have no plans. What a life will bring, I will take it and use it the best I can.
What are some of your favourite experiences so far?
I remember every session I made. I'm extremely happy that I had a chance to work with people from various countries such as Poland, Belgium, Canada, India and Syria. Each of them was a challenge for me. Each of them had different ideas and different working methods. But over a year ago a photographer I worked with decided to put my photos on his exhibition in Ekeren, Belgium. It was definitely an important experience for me. I'm glad I could be a part of it.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?
Create yourself. You don't have to be the same as the others. You don't have to look like anyone else. You don't have to act like anyone else. Just be the best version of yourself. Believe in yourself. Love yourself. Work hard and don't give up.
What do you think about the magazine?
First, I would like to say thank Modellenland for the invitation. I am grateful to be able to share my experience here. About the magazine itself I think it's amazing ! It's great for people associated with the world of photography. But I also highly recommend it to those who are looking for inspiration or just want to relax over a coffee.
