Interview: Model Elvira jain (Moldova)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I am an international model from Moldavia and an entrepreneur. In my career I have worked with many publications such as Harpers Bazar, Vogue , L’officiel as well as brands such as Gucci, D&G,Armani, Philip Plein etc.

I have done many shooting campaigns and I have worked across Europe, Asia and Middle East !

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I think I would not change anything as I accept myself the way I am with all my flaws and downsides.

Every stage of life gives you the opportunity to learn something new and be a better person than yesterday.

How did you start modelling?

I started at 16 when I was scouted by designer Valentina Vidrascu. That fortuitous encounter changed my life forever because since then I started to travel the world for fashion shootings and catwalk shows. My first contract was in China and my first fashion show was at the Shanghai fashion week for Lacoste ! I still remember the excitement. I was the only model chosen in my agency to walk for Lacoste ! It was such an honor

What do you think of the work as a model?

I love it ! It gives you so  many opportunities and opens so many door ! From traveling, and being on bilboards and magazine covers,  to meeting influential people who you can do bussiness with in the future! I have been modelling for a long time but despite that I am keep the friendhip with people that I met 10 years ago. Many of them are photographers, make-up artists and of course other models that I have worked with in the past and I continue to work with today.

Sometime modelling is not easy as you can feel very lonely when you travel far from your family. Also, there are times where you are asked to work long hours in the heat or, on the opposite, in extreme temperature below zero.

Nevertheless, if you are passionate about it, it really gives you a lot of strengh to overcome every moment ! 

What is your beauty regimen?

I try to use less products since I believe less is more . I use a toner and a moisturizer cream in the morning, and in the evening vitamin C serum to nourish my skin and keep it fresh. Every 2 weeks I get a face massage and when I am not lazy I do some face exercises!

In July I will launch an app called “Face fitness by  Elvira Jain” with a lot of face exercises that are meant to keep your skin toned and healthy. !

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

Patience ,perseverance, faith and believe in your yourself that you can achieve anything! 

What are your plans for the future?

I believe first do it and then say to everyone ! Working on some projects, So I will keep it as surprise !  

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

I must say Most of my experiences were nice nice . I really enjoyed doing the fashion show of Philip PLein in qatar , or Dolce&Gabbana in dubai .Gucci definitely is one of my favorite since is a family already as I am working always with them in dubai ! I am always doing their fashion shows !  Dior is another one that was very nice to work with ! I had a cover and editorial shoot with them for an Arabic magazine cover in Dubai and the experience was lovely !

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?

Find a mother agency that will believe in your potential since this is the most important as a first step . Secondary prepare yourself for a lot of work ,shoots ,  travels , long hours of preparation for fashion shows or shoots in different weather situations! You  need to really be very dedicated and focused if you want to reach the top ! Prepare yourself to listen “no “ You might not won’t be choosen at every casting you do and that’s absolutely ok . You need to be strong to listen no as well . 

What do you think of the magazine?

I love independent publications that value and elevate the creative industry such as Model Land. It’s very interesting to see and get inspired by so many beautiful shoots made by so many international photographers. Keep up with the great work!
