Interview: Cover Girl Olga Mikhaljova (Russia)
Can you tell us a little about you?
Hello there, my name is Olga, im Russian girl. I started modelling around 10 years ago and since then I was almost everywhere – from Guangzhou to Cape Town. I love travelling but even more I love sea, nature and good wine – that’s why few years ago I moved to Italy.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
Nose and boobs! just kidding, i was always afraid of plastic surgeries and i still do. When i get tired of myself i change my hair color.
How did you start modelling?
By mistake. I had a friend who was working as a scout, at that time he just started to work so he desperately needed models. My first country was Greece and i felt in love immediately. With country, with sea, with people and food. And with job aswell – Athens was (and still is) amazing place to do a lot of good editorials.
What do you think of the work as a model?
Its amazing opportunity to travel and to meet interesting people but u should be very strong, know exactly what u want and always remain optimistic.
What is your beauty regimen?
Im lucky to have good genes thats why i was always a bit careless about beauty regimen. I still remember when i first time came to Italy i was completely ignoring sunscreen, as a result i got pigmentation and i couldnt get rid of it for long time. The best beauty advices i know, is to sleep long, use sunscreen and not to use night cream – during the job we have so many products on face, at night the skin must rest.
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?
I always had sense of humour and it helped me a lot. This job can be very tough especially if u are young and inexperienced. My friends who was taking all close to heart ended up with different kind of disorders. That’s so sad.
What are your plans for the future?
Life is unpredictable, 2020 showed us this. I can't and i dont want make any plans for the future, im learning to be patient.
What are some of your favorite experiences so far?
Im in love with editorials – they tell us different stories. Shooting editorial is not just selling out something, its closer to art.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modelling?
I suggest to choose very carefully mother agency. U should understand that agency will get its percentage even sending u to Vietnam, but will u be happy in Vietnam? Think twice before signing any contract.
What do you think of the magazine?
U give people working in fashion industry opportunity to meet each other, to listen stories and share experience. Its cool.
