Interview: Model Marta Jung (Poland)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I am Marta from Poland. I finished my studies in human nutrition and I am a nutrition specialist. I am currently studying psychology and in the future I would like to combine these two majors and work in eating disorders. I love helping other people and sharing my knowledge. In addition to posing, I love to take pictures, especially the macro photography.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I would like to be more confident. It would help me in my everyday life. At work, in relations with others.

How did you start modeling?

Actually, when I was a little girl, I loved being photographed by someone else. I kept asking my dad to take a picture of me in a specific place. Most often it was simply nature, i.e. in the woods, by the water. I also love animals, so he used to take pictures of me with every animal I encountered! My first photo session was in 2014. I made an appointment with a photographer and we took pictures in the park. I was very excited and I was waiting impatiently for photos. And so I started going to more and more different sessions, gained experience and tried my hand at various topics and places.

What do you think of the work as a model?

For me, modelling is an amazing adventure. You can play different roles and be whoever you want! However, this is not easy work. The longest session in which I took part lasted 10 hours! At the end, wanting to come out not too bad in the pictures I lost strength, but I got to the end. Other sessions required keeping the right position, posing in an uncomfortable or heavy outfit, in uncomfortable conditions - in the winter outside or in a huge dress in the heat. Despite these inconveniences, I love every element of the photo session. From preparations - makeup, styling, to posing and waiting for photos.

What is your beauty regimen?

For me, beauty is naturalness, that's why I don't dye my hair, I don't have artificial nails, eyebrows or eyelashes.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

What makes me different from others is that I don't like to walk in someone else's footsteps. Of course, I like to get inspired, but I always go my own way. I like to have something just my own.

What are your plans for the future?

I have no specific plans, but dreams. One of them has already come true, being in your November issue of the magazine last year! One day I would like to take part in a product session for a more famous brand, go to a fashion show, appear at a photo exhibition, pose with an animal.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

My favorite experience are sessions where I get into something 100%, feel no shame and just act. Each frame is different and natural. Then I’m fulfilling myself and each of the sides is happy. Not every session goes this way, sometimes you have to adapt to the topic imposed by the photographer or stylist. One of my favorite sessions was the one where I took my clothes, put on make-up and did simple, natural photos in the studio with the photographer.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

Yes. It is important to be familiar with the modeling world first. Knowing who is responsible for what, what rights they have. The model herself should first check if she likes it by arranging a loose session. If you feel that this is it, it is worth taking better photos with a professional photographer or try your hand at TFP photography and set up an account on some portal to show yourself to others. And then everything will go by itself. At least, it was like that with me:>

What do you think of the magazine?

I recently know Modellenland Magazine, but it's a great place where you can show your work and get inspired by others. It's not just photos, but also meeting other interesting people through interviews with them. I like that the magazine is online so it is accessible to everyone.
