Interview: Photographer Ahmad Al Hanjoul (Germany)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Hello, my name is Ahmad Al Hanjoul. I was born is Beirut and I reside in Germany 6 years ago

How and when did you get into photography? I discovered my hobby in photography by accident and it was the most beautiful accident of my life, where I discovered after that my talent in photography At first, I owned a “Canon D 450” camera and currently I use “Canon 6D” and “Canon Mark 2 5D”.

I started my photography career in 2014. The start was by photographing flowers for over a year. After that, I participated in photography’s groups on Facebook that had a major role in encouraging me with keep going through which I chose children photography and portrait..

What does photography mean to you?

Everything!

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

My focus is laying on portraits. With children I like the playful work with them. I take their toys or other natural things like leaves throughing into the air. I often tell the people to look at something that doesnt exist, just in their imaginaton. I think this is the case of the sometimes serious looking.

Where do you get inspiration from? It´s difficult to say. I think it depends on the feeling in the moment as I see something or meet somebody. Mostly I look for expressive eyes, characters, rich colours and outdoor light makes the right feeling of it.

Do you think in advance what you want in the picture ?

Yes of course

I prefer outdoor shooting only

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

Professional

What has been your most memorable session and why?

On my journey through Rajasthan/India I was really inspired by the people, the culture and the colurful clothes.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

Find out somebody really wants to work on, specialize on a topic
