Interview: Photographer Tomasz Ciesielski (Poland)

Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Tom, I'm since 35 years old, I live in Poland and I love fashion photography and through this I want to realize my artistic dreams.

How and when did you get into photography?

I start my advertising 10 years ago

What does photography mean to you?

Photography is a passion for me, I love to plan a photo session, look for inspiration, look for collaborators, create something magical - not possible

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

My style is not enclosed. I am looking for climate for every shot

Where do you get inspiration from?

I got inspiration in every single thing: in a travel, in a movie, in a videoclips, in a advertising, in a nature

Studio, on location or both?

No matter where matters with who

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

Photography is my passion because I think realistically, I work normally, I have insurance and do not worry about clients. When you have passions and treat it as a job, it is not a passion but an obligation.

The secret of happiness is to put passion into your work. No passion, no work! So, for me being a photographer is a profession, but mainly a hobby! One does not exist without the other.

What has been your most memorable session and why?

A few years ago when I was taking photos on an analogue, I was invited by my colleagues to study for fashion lookbook wedding sessions. Unfortunately, I did not want the main photographer's camera to work with the lamps in the studio and I had to do all the sessions. The experience gained for 10 hours turned out to be a good workshop and the beginning of a great adventure.

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

I always use Canon lens Canon 35 mm (f1,4), Canon 85 mm (f1,4), Canon 24-70 mm (f2,8), Canon 70-200 mm (f2,8)

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
