Interview: Model Alessia Marseglia (Italy)

Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Alessia, I was born 22 years ago in the south of Italy, near the beautiful town of Salerno, a nice place south of Neaples, however I always lived in Rome with my family. I have an high school diploma in marketing and although my work as a model is a full time job I am planning to get a degree in makreting.

When I was only 18 I met my love and now I have a wonderful daugther, name Asia. I have also lived with my parents for four years in Egypt, and that’s why I am also fluent in Arabic language.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I am bashful and a bit too touchy, these are the things I would like to change and I am working on it.

How did you start modeling?

My uncle believed I was a very beautiful kid, he signed me toi a Rome agency and I could start working as a baby model when I was just 5 years old, notably I was part of Diesel casualwear campaign.

What do you think of the work as a model?

Just like any other job is quite different from general perception. Being a model is not just party life of a beautiful girl, but it can be hard and sometime fatiguing. Any young girl thinks to modeling as a funny and light job, but in real life being a model often means trveling around, attending castings, being in places you don’t know and you don’t get to know either. All in all not an easy job.

What is your beauty regimen?

I was lucky, I don’t have to do much to keep myself in shape, at any rate I am careful with food and train three times a week

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I am extremely professional, take my job seriously and try to do it at my best. I don’t rely uniquely on beauty to get the job done, instead I try to follow photographers and directors indications to perform the way they expect. And although I might seem to be cold int he beginning, I am only selective, but I have a strong and friendly relationship with all the photographers I worked with.

Working with me it’s easy and productive.

What are your plans for the future?

When I was younger I dreamed to be part of Italian military police (Carabinieri). Of course my daughter changed my plans, and for the better. However once she has grow up I might try to fulfill my dream.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

I have modeled for many good photographers, acted as main character in two music video, worked in advertising and acted in a short movie. Moreover I have been selected for a small but interesting role in the next film of a major Italian Director.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

As stated before, this is not an easy job, beauty alone is definitely not enough. You got to believe in what you do, not pretend to be somebody different, be yourself all the time and never accept compromises.

What do you think of the magazine?

I am pleased and honored to have been selected for your magazine, and I am looking forward to be part of it.
